Under the Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) grant, Fresno American Indian Health Project promotes the following:
- Educating our community on coping skills, the signs of suicide, and prevention and intervention resources
- Substance abuse prevention activities
- Annual summer Gathering of Native Americans (GONA), ages 13 – 17
- Use of culturally appropriate curriculums to promote peer support, empowerment, and goal-setting
- Cultural activities to support health and wellbeing
- Teen leadership opportunities
- Youth Council, ages 12 – 24
- Provide access to relapse prevention services for youth and families
