Meth/Suicide Prevention

Under the Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) grant, Fresno American Indian Health Project promotes the following:
  • Educating our community on coping skills, the signs of suicide, and prevention and intervention resources
  • Substance abuse prevention activities
  • Annual summer Gathering of Native Americans (GONA), ages 13 – 17
  • Use of culturally appropriate curriculums to promote peer support, empowerment, and goal-setting
  • Cultural activities to support health and wellbeing
  • Teen leadership opportunities
  • Youth Council, ages 12 – 24
  • Provide access to relapse prevention services for youth and families
